i did the trade your pants thing in new york. i sat in the space and did the sewing for the project in a space provided by the group no longer empty (which takes spaces in new york and negotiates with landlords to have temporary exhibitions in these spaces). the space was on east broadway between chinatown and the lower east side. i got a lot of pants to work with this time. and tara de la garza, the curator, sat with me the whole time and became the 'great unpicker' of my project. it was really wonderful and made me feel so welcomed in new york. it surprises me that i am so happy here.
